Recently, good news came from the Shandong Regulatory Office of the National Energy Administration that Unit 1 of Huadian Power International Zouxian Power Plant had received the approval for extended service and continued operation, adding another heavyweight "weight" for the plant to improve quality and efficiency.

Unit 1 of Zouxian Power Plant is the first 300000 kilowatt unit in Shandong Province, which was included in the national key construction projects from the 7th to 8th Five Year Plans. It was put into operation on December 12, 1985, with a design life of 30 years. In the era of "power shortage" in the early stages of reform and opening up, Unit 1 made outstanding contributions to the economic construction of Shandong Province with large capacity and high parameters.

With the progress and development of technology, the factory has successively carried out major upgrades such as capacity expansion, heating renovation, and overall optimization of Unit 1. It has completed desulfurization, denitrification, dust removal, and ultra-low emission environmental protection renovation, further improving the safety, economy, and environmental protection of the unit, and giving the old unit a new vitality.

According to industry regulatory requirements and considering the safety of unit operation, in May 2018, Zouxian Power Plant invited professional institutions to conduct a comprehensive life assessment of the unit, confirming that all conditions met the requirements for continued service. On this basis, the factory increased communication with the Shandong Regulatory Office of the National Energy Administration and carefully submitted the application materials for "extending lifespan", obtaining relevant approvals in the shortest possible time. According to industry approval, Unit 1 has an extended lifespan of 11 years and can continue to serve until December 12, 2026, which is higher than the usual approved lifespan.

The continued operation of Unit 1 has profound significance for optimizing the asset structure of Zouxian Power Plant, maintaining the scale advantage of the enterprise, continuously improving the comprehensive competitiveness of the power and heating markets, and achieving high-quality development of the enterprise.
